If you declined Saniderm on your tattoo please see our other after-care instructions here.

If you have Saniderm on:

  • Step 1: Leave the Saniderm bandage on for 5-7 days. After 5-7 days, remove Saniderm while in the shower. You must peel the Saniderm in order for it to come off, you will want to peel slowly.  * You can shower with Saniderm on while healing *

  • Step 2: Wash the tattoo with lukewarm water and non-scented antibacterial soap, using only your hands, do not use any scrubbers or washcloths. Wash until the tattoo is completely clear of blood and plasma.

  • Step 3: Pat dry with a clean towel or paper towel. Let air dry for 5-10 minutes.

  • Step 4: Apply a thin layer of Aquaphor, Tattoo-Goo, Hustle Butter, or non-scented lotion.

  • Step 5: Wash your tattoo 2-3 times a day until it is completely healed.

  • If you notice your tattoo getting red or irritated, remove the Saniderm immediately. Repeat Steps 2 and 3 of aftercare.

  • Do not expose the tattoo to extreme sunlight for 2 weeks or until the tattoo is completely healed. Once the tattoo is healed, apply sunblock to your tattoo if you know you’ll be out in the sun for long periods of time.

  • Do not swim or submerge your tattoo in water until the tattoo is completely healed.

  • DO NOT, we repeat, DO NOT pick at or scratch your tattoo. This can damage the design of your tattoo and your skin.

  • Remember, all tattoos heal at a different pace.

If you have any questions at all in regards to your Saniderm bandage or how your tattoo is healing, please do not hesitate to contact your artist.
